Welcome to Our Virtual Classroom!

I am so glad that you have chosen to take a step forward in your musical journey, whether it is just your first or you have been involved for many years. I am so lucky to be a part of it! My name is Mr. Christensen, and together with your peers in this music program, you will learn how we as humans connect with music and connect with each other through music.

Within the pages of this website, you will find resources to both help and inspire you. The band's performance calendar can be viewed on the Calendar page, and under Resources you will find a number of other helpful links and documents.

About Your Teacher

This school year is my fifth as instrumental music director and technology director at Overton Public School. I am originally from Kearney and I received my Bachelor's degree in K-12 music education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I have also studied at Texas State University and the College of St. Scholastica.

My passion is guiding others toward greater awareness of their innate musicality, and helping them see the artistry in the world around them. I am lucky to get to live out this passion with the students and families in the music program. I encourage you to see how you can get more involved, and to please reach out to me at any time with any questions or concerns you have.
